Payroll Lead

The Payroll Lead will play a key leadership role within the payroll department, providing daily support, guidance, and oversight to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. This role serves as a subject matter expert and point of escalation for payroll specialists, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local wage laws, as well as internal policies and procedures. The Payroll Lead also partners closely with HR, Benefits, and our Finance team to ensure a smooth and seamless payroll experience for all employees.
What You’ll Do:
· Process Payroll: Take care of payroll details like tracking hours, handling deductions, and making sure everything complies with laws.
· Talk to Clients: Keep in touch with our clients regularly to understand their payroll needs and make sure we meet their expectations.
· Help Clients Use Our System: Show clients how to use our HR system and help them if they have any issues.
· Team Support and Leadership: Serve as the first point of contact for payroll team members regarding day-to-day payroll questions, system navigation, and process clarification.
· Solve Problems: Work on finding solutions when challenges arise and make sure everything runs smoothly as well as Review payroll processes and recommend improvements to drive efficiency and accuracy.
· Compliance and Audit: Ensure payroll practices comply with all federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
· Handle Various Tasks: Stay organized and manage different tasks to support our clients.
Who We’re Looking For:
· High attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
· You’re great at dealing with people and have excellent communication skills.
· You know your way around payroll systems and are good at following through on transactions.
· You’re good at solving problems, and can manage multiple tasks well.
· You’re comfortable using Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook.
· PrismHR experience a big plus
· 3+ years of payroll experience, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role preferred.
· Interested in growth opportunities.
· Multisite payroll experience
Education:
· High School Diploma is required.
· An Associate's Degree or certification in payroll is a plus but not necessary.
